RITUALS Raise Beast Companion
Six years ago, Iluliaq’s fishing village was destroyed by Arctic Gnolls; she was the sole survivor due only to the fact that she had taken ill and was in her parents tent buried in blankets during the attack.
She helplessly witnessed the destruction of all she knew.
After the gnolls came the wolves. They scavenged the corpses left from the attack, the fish and any other foodstuffs they could find. But they did not kill the helpless child Iluliaq who was slowly regaining strength.
At first she would drive them off, throwing stones at them, but as the helplessness of her situation set in, she gave up even that, and let the wolves have their due.
While she was not exactly taken in by the wolves and raised as one of the pack as the popular story of her background would come to say, they reached an uneasy truce.
That truce begot friendship, and as that first winter approached, dependence.
It is a lonely life in the north, and more so living in a destroyed villiage. After surviving a few seasons alone, Iluliaq decided to leave the land that she knew.
